Baked Goods

Natural sweeteners have been popular in baked goods for decades now. Anything from cookies, cakes, pies and pastries can be made "sugar free" by using Erythritol or Erythritol based blends, including Classic Blend, Premium Blend and Monk Fruit Blend.

A number of our bulk buyers use Stevia powder and Monk Fruit Extract, but they are experienced professionals producing their own products for New Zealand consumers. sweetnz® has a diverse range of cafes, bakeries, cookie and health bar makers and other producers using our ingredients to make amazing products loved by their customers. 

Important to our customers is the fact that sweetnz® products are natural and sweet - containing no artificial or synthetic ingredients and no refined sugars. Our products are 100% natural and can be consumed with confidence. 

One of the most commonly used natural sweeteners, Stevia saw use within the beverage sector increase from 36% in 2016 to 40% in 2021 according to Statista, but the big winner within the baked goods sector appears to be Erythritol with forecast market growth of 22% annually by 2028. sweetnz® is also closely monitoring the status of Allulose, which we sold previously and will make available again as soon as regulations allow.

The main drivers behind the trend toward No Sugar and Low Sugar is of course our concern with what we eat and drink. Increasingly we are concerned about our health and the health of those we provide for. The New Zealand Health Survey 2020/21 found that: around 1 in 3 adults (aged 15 years and over) were classified as obese* (34.3%), up from 31.2% in 2019/20.
